Is it enaugh powerful to run BF3

Hello


Right now im building my own gaming PC (I call it like that, cuz i had P4 before )
Im just worried about, that will it max out games for about a year or more.
Can anyone help me and tell me, will i max out all games on 1280x1024?
And should I go for 8Gb RAM instead of 4Gb?



Specs:
Intel core i5 760 2.8Ghz
4Gb DDR3 1333Mhz RAM
MSI GTX560Ti Twin Frozr II
Chieftec 600-750W PSU
GigaByte GA-H55M-S2H mobo
LG Flatron 17'' monitor

That CPU is an old socket, if you havent bought it yet i would suggest going for the 1155 socket instead. An i5-2500k would be a big upgrade and wouldn't cost much more.

You also only need about 450W, 600-750W is way too much.

A build like that would probably max BF3 at 1920x1080 so i'm sure it will breeze through it at 1280x1024.

Too bad i bought the i5 760 already.
Im thinking about OC in future too. Would Hyper 212+ handle the 760 @ ~4Ghz well and quiet?
But would it handle all games at max for 1-2 years?

I'd put that $20 towards a new monitor cause damn son... 17" Flatron that's not even widescreen? Your games will look 200% better with a solid monitor that's pumping out 1650 x 1080 or 1920 x 1080.

This is my config now, so far haven't had any problems with max settings @ 1650 x 1080 (SC2, BF3 Alpha, SWTOR Beta, WoW, etc)

I don't think you could manage 4Ghz. I had that cooler in an Antec 902 with the same CPU and i could just about make 3.8Ghz and hit 75c on prime 95, so i toned it down a bit until i got a better cooler. You should manage ~3.6-3.8Ghz i think. I think that plus a GTX 560Ti should be able to max anything for 2 years at such a low resolution yeah. It probably would even at 1920x1080 with a bit of GPU overclocking.

I am putting my PC to a 50'' TV about 4 times a week and play there @ 1080p

Games don't really utilise more than 4GB of RAM because some people are on 32 bit where you can only have 4GB anyway.

As for the water cooling, i cant vouch for the quality of the parts if it's custom made but i'd guess that you would manage 4Ghz on water. Dont worry though, 3.8Ghz isn't really gonna feel any slower than 4Ghz.

Yeah pretty sure they both are so long as you have a good case with enough airflow obviously.

Well, that might be a problem.
My mobo allows to put only 1 fan.

Ok, i wouldn't get your hopes up too much about getting record breaking overclocks but i'm sure you can get to at least 3.6Ghz on that CPU. You should be able to get a 20% overclock on that GPU too i think but i can't really say for sure you have to try yourself.

Well, in the start 3-6 months of my PC, i wont OC anything, i will just get a Hyper 212+ and just play at stock clocks. Later, when there will be games with bigger requirements, i will start OC
