So I am playing on getting a thermaltake 530W semi modular psu and these are my specs:
fx 6300
r9 280
1 hdd
1 ssd
3-4 fans
I want to overclock the cpu from 3.5 to 4.2Ghz and the gpu as high as i can get it to run stable.
Will this psu be enough for my system?

Which one?

Well,here's a decent 550w unit.

I would not.
Thermaltake is a poor to bad quality unit depending on the specific model.

Moreover FX chips require extra power as does R9 graphics cards. Particularly when overclocked.
Here is a decent guide to power requirements:

A poor quality psu will not have the protective circuitry to keep from damaging all your parts if it fails under load.

Not every corsair unit is good, they have both good and bad PSUs.

For your build,i'd suggest a good 550w.Or a good 650w for future upgardes.
