Is it "fast" HP ProBook 6560b.

Hello,

I'm trying to learn more about Laptop CPU's, in the desktop section i'm pretty known.

But with these refurbished models i'm always thinking is it worth it?

Specs:
Intel Core i5-2520M
320 GB HDD
4GB Ram

Is this model ready to just do some "fast/normal" internetting and mailing.

Any older laptop can become fast(er) with a SSD upgrade. I recently upgraded my mother's old laptop (can't remember exact specs but it was a dual core with HT/8gb DDR3) with a Sandisk SSD Plus 240gb/Clean install of Windows 10 to get rid of all the junk HP puts on there systems and the laptop runs much better then before even though it has a older SATA connection and can't fully utilize the speed of the SSD.

I'm sure that system would be fine for your use.

4GB of ram is a little light for anyone that wants to have a lot of tabs open, but any of the core series CPUs should be good for web browsing and e-mail. 4K video playback is probably out, but it should do fine with 720p/1080p.

Were I you, I would try to track down a refurbished PC with an SSD. It will improve the desktop experience immensely.

Laptop would be fine a general purpose workhorse, internet/emails, just give it a cheap SSD and extra 4GB ram.

If your not pushing it, most generations of CPU's in the last 5 years are still worth repurposing, with minor upgrades.

If you don't add a SSD I'm sure it will work ok for your uses, it's just a good option to breathe new life into older systems.

You need to check that on the laptops manufacturer website but some CPU's are soldered into the socket and may not be able to be replaced.
