Is it fine to plug a 2.0 speaker system in motherboard line-out and a dedicated subwoofer into the motherboard subwoofer-out?

Hi!

I have Asus Z170 Pro Gaming/Aura motherboard with 5.1 sound system support.

My 2.0 speaker system has no subwoofer port out. So, is it fine to plug the 2.0 speaker system in motherboard line-out and a dedicated subwoofer into the motherboard subwoofer-out?

I plugged as said above and it is working fine, but I was wondering if it will reduce the sound quality or damage any component.

I assume your 2.0 speakers and subwoofer are powered.
If so....you have them hooked up correctly.

Yes, both the 2.0 speakers and the subwoofer are separately powered.
