if you check ,970 extreme3 will run a FX 8350 if it is R2.0 but under a cooling condition
But th asus mobo you suggested is good .

The original Extreme 3 will run an FX 8350 with a simple BIOS update . The R2.0 has always had a BIOS that supports FX processors .

The 970 chip set and 990 chipset are identical pieces of silicon and perform identically . The 970 is limited to one graphics card , either by licensing to manufacturers or because it has some sections disabled .
There are excellent boards from ASUS and Gigabyte using the 970 variant that overclock extremely well .
IMO the best is the ASUS M5A97 R2.0

but the Asrock extreme3 will work and it will overclock reasonably well if you use an aftermarket cpu cooler and you have a case with good airflow
