Is it good processor for LGA775 ?

I currently have Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 3.00 GHz 6mb cache

My socket is LGA 775 and should I exchange that processor for another Core 2 Duo or what?

P.S. One more question... Does exist any 775 processor that is QUAD-CORE ? And, can older motherboards support them?

Thanks.

If you want to upgrade you cpu its only worth to go to a quad core and Yes there are many quad cores for lga 775.There are core 2 quad-core 2 extreme and some named xeon which are basically core 2 extreme quadcore with better bining which allows higher overclock.Tell us your motherboards model to see if can support any quad core.
