Well, I'd still recommend you do all the research you can. Anyone can post on these forums, so It's best not to follow everything anyone says and read up as much as you can.

But that build will do just fine for gaming. The only thing I might add to that is a 120gb SSD as a boot device, but it's not necessary. If you don't have an OS, you can get a retail copy of Windows 10 Home for around 120$ USD. There's a cheaper version that costs around 80$, but it's OEM in stead of retail. DO NOT buy the OEM copy as it will give you issues in the future should you ever need to change your motherboard, I learned this lesson the hard way.

The new 10xx Nvidia cards are being released, so if you want to wait just a bit longer before you start buying...

Depends on what your priorities with the build are. It's a safe bet that you're just going to game, so that build will do just fine for really anything you want at maxed or near maxed settings @1080p.

Do you plan on overclocking? If not you could save a bit of money and just get the non-K version of the 4690 and a cheaper board. If you do want to overclock you'll want an aftermarket cooler, though. Although that cpu really doesn't need any overclock to keep up with a 970. You shouldn't have to worry about any cpu bottleneck. You might also want to look into throwing an SSD in as well.

Does your budget include an OS?
