I think it's a better choice. From a lot I have read....the new CX series is pretty good. There was a green label CX series years ago....that was of lower quality.....but I've read the newer gray label is much better.
I'm between the corsair CX750M and the TX850M

Is there a problem using a higher wattage than recommended?
I think either of those CX/TX are good choices.
As far as a higher wattage.
It's never a problem to use higher wattage.
Personally I think it's better for two reasons.
One....you have overhead in case you want to add something.
Two....a higher wattage unit will generally run cooler with the load being equal and "cooler" results in longer component life.

I think I'll stick with the 850W one for future upgrades and i'ts a better choice
