Hi,

I have a problem. When im playing game my computer restarts. I have readed some other forums... and i think its psu. I have 600w psu and only my gpu needs 550w (nvidia geforce gtx 470). My cpu is i5 and i have 8gb RAM. This is now happening about half a year. Please answer me. Thank for your help.

NVidia recommend a 550W PSU; the GPU draws over 200W at peak, not 500W. What PSU do you have?

What brand of the PSU? It looks like is a PSU problem, because a bad brand and the lack of a 80+ PLUS certification means that it may say 600w but actually gives you like half of that.

I agree that it can be the psu,but that has nothing to do with being a 80+ psu or not that only says how efficient the psu is.A 600watt psu should give 600watts,but some makers exaggerate that number so the psu realistically delivers less.

THe 80+ certification has nothing to do with power delivery - it's a certification for efficiency.

Yes Vic, it should, but I've seen some ridiculous things already, that scares me hahah. That's why I'm paranoid and only get 80+Gold with good reviews and tests, but normally it doesn't happen. This kind of problem normally sounds like PSU at the very first second, because we don't see that many GPU problems causing this as PSUs, but of course he needs to test both to know for sure.

WATTS - volts are one thing, but if the GPU is working harder, it draws more WATTS, ideally the volts will always be at 12V - if not your PSU is not good.

OK, here's what I can see. It never got a thorough, teardown review that I could find, but the reviews were in general positive. However, there has been no reviews of any units for 4-5 years now. I'd say unless there is evidence to the contrary, it's not your GPU causing the issue, but I am not very confident making that statement.

Frankly, I don't have a clue... 🙁

faulting HSF on Videocard... check the plastic rivets/fastener things on the card that usually hold the gold plated heat sink/fan down and ensure they're all legit.

You're not attempting to overclock your video card are you?
