is it impossible to overclock radeon 9000

i want to know that is it impossible to overclock a regular radeon 9000 (250/200).i heard that the radeon 9000 has a built in overclocking protection mechanizm ,is it true.

No, it's not impossible, but you do need to hack its BIOS.

Well, the posts said they tried using Hoger and it still only worked temporarily.

Oie, yeah, that's just about as bad as it NOT working, at least until you divide it into gaming / non gaming rigs. I have that and I still wouldn't want to go back to 98. I'd prefer to run everything on 2K (I use dual 2k/XP). Only my laptop runs like a Vic-20 when I run 2K, so it uses 98, until I get a new one (HeHe, I'm even thinking apple 12" G4, to try something new {well since my old Apple][ at least}).

*Shudder* Ewe 98! At least it's not ME I guess.
