Is it my LCD or video card?

I have a 17" flat panel and a Geforce4 mx440 4xAGP 128mb video card. The problem is that when I play some games (Blackhawk DOwn, Warcraft 3 and others) I often get pinpoint. flashing colored dots and flashing shapes on my screen, as well as start and stop gameplay. Is this more likely to be my video card or my LCD?
My system info is P4 2.66 ghz, 512 mb ram (don't know which kind off hand)

"artifacts" are normally associated with dying or overheating graphics cards.
