[SOLVED] Is it normal for a GTX 1060 to have sudden frame drops constantly?

Specifically, the card is an EVGA GTX 1060 6GB SC
My other specs are a Core i5-2400, Intel Desktop Board 02, 8gb DDR3 RAM, 4tb and 320GB HDDs, and a EVGA 400w psu, and the HD Graphics 2000, while not primary, is still on so I can use my second display via VGA

Check your ram and pagefile usage during gaming sessions. I'd suspect you're hitting available ram limit there.
Also - would suggest you disabling integrated GPU. Currently this uses portion of system ram as vram for iGPU.

No, its probably more likely due to CPU bottleneck or slow hdd.

Could be also cpu/gpu overheating.
