[SOLVED] Is it normal for CPUs to be preinstalled into motherboard?

There's an easily missed mouse-hover on that page which states that if a CPU is ordered with the board, the CPU will be fitted to the board before despatch. So nothing unusual in that.

They should also have updated the BIOS if necessary to support the chosen CPU. This may have been overlooked so I would give them a call.

Did you get the box and wraithe heatsink with it? Or just the mobo with cpu installed?

Reason why that's important: the supplier may have shipped you what's called a tray processor and not a boxed processor. You don't always get the heatsink with a tray processor, but more you probably don't get the AMD warranty. The dealer gets the processor warranty so in case of processor failure your only remedy is through the dealer, not through AMD.

So long as the dealer's reputable you're probably OK and hopefully got a good deal. It's just something you may not have realized.
