Is it normal for monitors to look for different inputs when turn on?

When I power on my monitor it would look for VGA, HDMI, then to DVI. I use DVI is there any way to set DVI as my main so my monitor will power up faster?

yes.
just use the monitors menu to remove it off auto and select the input you need. after that it should no longer search for active inputs.

There's no option to remove it from auto.
