I have an iGPU Intel UHD 630 on an i3-9100 processor. It's a new PC which I only use for streaming and watching movies, tv, youtube and such.

I never paid attention to this before but for example when I stream on HBO Go my iGPU jumps from 7% to 50-70% then goes back to 7% before going back up. It alternates every couple of seconds.

However, when I watch Youtube or Netflix in 1080p it never exceeds 20%. As far as I've noticed this only happens on HBO Go.

I'm just wondering if this is a normal occurrence.

Streaming is generally more hardware intensive than regular video playback, I believe due to video decoding or compression. It's not unusual and you have no need to be worried about it.
