im planning to upgrade my laptop's old mech hard drive to a ssd and the old hdd will be put at the cd drive caddy so i can still use it as mass storage. but the hwinfo64 said that the the cd drive is sata 1.5Gb/s.
will accessing files be slower?

Solution
S550CA uses the HM76 chipset, based on Panther Point. It should have at least one 6Gbps port and the second port should be 6Gbps or 3Gbps, not 1.5Gbps. I actually have a laptop from that era with the HM77 and the CD caddy port is 3Gbps. It hurts sequentials primarily, however a HDD would be fine with 3Gbps and probably even 1.5Gbps.
