Hello, i have a samsung m7 smart monitor. Colors looks a bit washed out while watching netflix etc. compared to my phone and laptop's screen. There is a color slider on the picture settings and its in the middle by default which is 25, now my question is that is it ok to bump it up to 50? Or should i leave it in the middle as it is? Will i loose detail in movies if i increase it?

increasing color options does not decrease other settings or lack of detail.
only changes the value/amount of certain colors provided.

while you wouldn't want it boosted all the way to max,
you should slowly increase the slider while watching different types of video and see which value gives you the best overall quality.

if you can create & set different profiles in settings
try making a different combination of settings for different types of video;
live action(sports, news, etc),
HD video(tv shows, movies, documentaries),
SD video,
anime/cartoons, video games, etc.

I see, well there is no other profiles that i can do changes and test it. And i tried increasing it slowly but only the max setting gives vibrant colors. So i assume from from what you have wrote that it is safe to increase color slider, right?

i would guess that there is some setting that you may be missing or maybe a fault with the display then.

usually ~50% is for normal color,
closer to 100% would usually be way over-saturated.

try going through GPU and/or display settings in the OS and any provided 3rd party app and see if you can help with the lack of good colors.

no damage can be caused.

I mean ofc there is other profiles but even though if i set the same settings for all profiles, somehow there is a difference between them. One profile is looking brighter than other profile with the same exact settings and yes i already turned off energy saving features for all profiles.

Btw i am using it as a tv, it's not connected to a pc it has its own os installed. Oh and i don't scared for it to be getting damaged, i just want to watch movies and tv shows with good looking picture. So when i asked if it is safe to increase color level, i meant is it safe for the movies sake 😀.
