Hello everyone, as the question says, i need to connect my room with Ethernet cable to my computer and the only way is through the electrical wall socket, the whole cable it self though will not be any near with any electrical line, it's just coming to the room through this socket!

So will that affect cable or not?! I've added a picture in the link below.

Thanks

Solution
it will depend on the kind of ethernet cable you're using if it's a standard CAT5 or CAT6 there should be no problem according to that these cables has shields to reject the interference.and the distance would be an important major , around 10-15 meters with the ethernet cable would be fine but any distance more then that and you would get delays and interruptions on the network.
i suggest you to use AV Ethernet adapters , simple and fast installing , faster speeds and less expensive than cabling.(but the speed of the adapters will depend on kind of wiring the building has)

It's worth adding a couple of points here:

Ethernet-over-electric cable tends to have a shared total bandwidth for the installation (much like an old hub used to use) - so if you have multiple heavy users on the network, you will run out of bandwidth eventually and by much slower than a dedicated Gigabit network.

Feeding ethernet cable through a wall socket may well work, but will break building regs in most countries. I presume you aren't drilling a hole for the cable due to it being a rented property? Breaking the regs in this way may invalidate house insurance for fire damage for example.
