Solution
The only thing you need to worry about would be rain (if you forgot to close the overnight or went to school/work). There might be a bit more dust, but as long as you clean your system regularly, it should be fine.

If you are worried about static, don't place your computer case on a carpet area, keep it on a desk to prevent random static buildups. Connect it to a surge protector to minimize damage to your pc during a lightning storm as well

To make computer damage easier during a thunderstorm, connect it to an adjacent protector. To make damage least likely, connected to a completely different device (also called a surge protector). This other and properly earthed 'whole house' protector is the only proven solution for lightning protection. Why? Because it makes a low impedance (ie 'less than 3 meter') connection to single point earth ground. Near zero (ineffective) plug-in protectors do not have earthing, will not discuss it, and provide numbers that say it is only a near zero protector.

Numbers. Destructive surges are hundreds of thousands of joules. How many joules does the plug-in protector claim to absorb? Hundreds? Thousand? Could it be any more near zero - and many times more expensive?

Best solution for static electric protection is humidity. Humidity should be at least 40%. Another example of what useful answers always include - numbers.
