[SOLVED] Is it ok to use both blue and black ram slots?

I have 2 available ram slots in total and one is blue and the other is black. Would it be ok if I put a ram card in the black and another in the blue?

You have 4 slots right?
And you have 2 ram sticks, 1 in a black slot and 1 in a blue slot.

Are they right next to each other? by that I mean, is there a slot between them or no?
If not, you've been leaving performance on the table, since you aren't using dual channel.



For your actual question, yes you can add 2 more sticks and populate all 4 slots.

Then yes, you can put in both.
It's actually recommended, since it will utilize dual channel, doubling the ram's bandwidth and getting you a few precent higher performance.
