i have a corsair rm650x
fractal design define r5

theres enough sata connectors on the psu but they arent in the correct locations on the cable or they smply wont fit in the motherboard mounted ssd drives

so is it ok to use sata power splitters, that split off more connections from the normal sata cable, or even from molex cables?

any downfalls like not enough amps or watts per cable or whatever?

Nope, no problem at all, in fact I used one for the very same purpose, it was use a splitter to reach the 3rd hard drive, or have to add another modular cable with 4 connectors on it just to connect up 1 hard drive.
