Is it okay if the ram what is added is the same brand and speed?

My friend wants to add more ram to his old PC, at the moment he has 4gb DDR2 crucial ram (1333mhz i guess not sure how to check it). Is it okay if he adds 4gb more (his old mobo supports up to 8gb) crucial ram with the same clock speed, I've heard its reccomended that the rams are all the same but the ram bundle what he has can't be found in estonia anymore.

yeah, it's ok as long as the speed and voltage is the same as well as the type (DDR2)

he should see a bit of a performance increase

Might be fine, might have problems - if so can often adjust timings/voltage changes to get them to play - if the mobo doesn't have a locked BIOS - i.e. a prebuilt computer

Is that why we have so many threads of people mixing sets and having problems with the sets not working together?
