Hey guys/girls!

I have a couple of questions.. first off I bought a new computer that came with 1 stick of 8GB RAM. I wanted to have 16GB so I was just going to buy another stick of RAM... but it's not the same brand of memory. Is that a problem?

The stick of memory in the computer is 8GB DDR3 1600 and the one I want to add is:

I'm wanting to upgrade for gaming so would leaving the stick that came with the computer limiting that?

Also is the stick of RAM I linked good for the price or would you recommend something else?

Solution
May or may not work, never a good idea to mix sets/sticks - if you do try and have problems, give me a shout and we'll probably be able to get them to play nice :)

What is worst case? It just doesn't work?.. or could it damage something?

Worst case is the motherboard will refuse to start until you take the second stick back out.
It is possible to alter the timings in bios to resolve this, but its a headache even for the experienced.
You would be better buying a cheap 16 gig (2 x 8gig) kit and using both sticks.
