I have an i7 4790K with the stock fan and a exhaust fan too. I currently changed to cpu fan to run on turbo instead of standard as i play CPU heavy games. Will i be okay changing to exhaust fan to run on turbo aswell? Am i running any risks doing this?

Thanks

I think he might be talking about fan speed. Are you talking about turbo boost for the cpu clock speeds RCF Prod? My asus board has built in fan control software and you can set the fan speed for the cpu to silent, normal, or turbo I think thats what the OP is referring to. In any case yes its fine to use turbo fan speed, it might get a bit load under load however. If you are talking about turbo boost for the cpu clocks yes turn that on, like RCF said im not sure why that wouldn't be on by default.

Yes, the asus board i have has built in fan control silent, standard, turbo. I changed the CPU fan to turbo and i'm wanting to know if the exhaust fan is okay to set to turbo and i wont be running any risks? Noise is not an issue, i wear headphones anyway :)

Yes you're not going to hurt the fans with any of those settings, the fans have a max rpm and I bet even with that turbo mode they are not hitting that max rpm. If you were to say hook up a fan with direct power from the psu with a molex adapter it would spin at its max speed. Even then the bearings in most halfway decent fans will run at that speed for years maybe longer without issue. Don't worry about the fans getting damaged, you can play around with those fan speed settings all you want.
