I would like to know that if it is posible to install the cpu that is faster than the M/B supported.
The story is i got the old cpu from my friend that is AMD athlon 1.3Ghz but my mother A7V is support MAX only 1Ghz.
Therefore, if i put 1.3Ghz on A7V what's gonna happen to my M/B. And what i have to set in the bios in order to make it work.
please let me know

Usually the case is that the manufacture advertises the max speed that is currently availiable for a given CPU.

More often than not the board will support faster CPU's but the manufacturer will not advertise this as the part is not yet availiable and therefore not tested.

As the next fastest CPU to be released sometimes contains optimizations that can make it incompatable with that board, the manufacturer would leave themselves liable to having to refund the customer if they had previously stated it being compatable.

If your board is the ASUS A7V model then it only supports the 200MHZ FSB which makes it incompatable with any Palomino and above chips. It will run all thunderbird models up to 1400MHZ but bear in mind the FSB266 versions will be running slower. You need to check how high your multiplier can go and maybe OC your boards FSB and unlock the multiplier on you CPU to gain higher results.

The 1300mhz chip is a FSB 100 part and you should be able to squeeze another 100mHZ or so out of it.
