Here is my current situation:

Home CPU is hooked up and working. I am using a kvm switch, which enables me to use my work laptop (no admin rights so can’t add programs). Single keyboard and mouse works. I want to add a second monitor but still use the exact same set up. CPU with two monitors, hit the switch, laptop with two monitors. Is this possible?

Do you use the abbreviation CPU as central processing unit or as a synonym for you laptop computer?
Are you willing to display the same content on a second monitor? Does this guide cover the topic http://www.thewindowsclub.com/mirror-windows-10-screen-to-another-device
Using a second monitor would not interfere with other peripheries or even a kvm switch. Could you rephrase your issue? What connectors does you laptop have?

My laptop only has 1 VGA port so I connect that to the KVM switch. I know how to run the 2nd monitor on my home computer because both monitor get plugged into it. Is there a way to connect the two monitors together so I can still use the KVM switch?
