I was playing a game and my laptop shut off and will not turn back on. I am afraid the motherboard is done.
I have only one stick of RAM, is it possible a bad stick could do this? Is it worth buying a replacement to try?
Here are the things I have already tried:

Here are the things I have already tried:
- Power cord seems fine, works on another device.
- Also tried a different power cord on the broken device. This other power cord has an LED indicator that instantly shuts off when plugged into the broken device. Unsure if this is a safety feature of this cord or something else.
- Tried with and without laptop battery
- Static discharged with battery and cord removed. No Luck.
- Attempt to reset bios by removing CMOS battery for 30 minutes
- Replaced CMOS battery
