Is it possible? Prebuilt HP desktop question

Hey tom'shardware! Just wondering, on my girlfriends HP 110 000a Desktop PC the motherboard has two sata ports: one for the 500gb hdd and one for the odd. Is it possible to utilise the ODD sata port for an ssd and omit the odd entirely?

Absolutely! SATA controllers work with any SATA-compliant device and versions are cross-compatible, i.e. a SATA 6Gb/s device like a SSD will work with a SATA 1.5Gb/s controller and vice versa. That computer has the A45 chipset, which only supports SATA 3Gb/s, so what that means is you can get a cheap, slower SSD and not notice any difference vs. a faster, more expensive one, and not notice the difference.
