Is it possible that CPU makes GPU overheat?

Hello,

So my problem is that I had i7 6700k and 980 TI G1 Gaming GPU but now I changed CPU beacuse I had some problems and now I wait for other CPU and till I wait for new CPU I have i3 2100 CPU and I noticed that GPU is overheating when I had 6700k CPU, GPU reached 70 C temp maximum underload and now it goes up to 85 C temp.So it must be CPU right?

CPU will only affect to GPU temperature by CPU hot air that blowed up by the fan, nothing else
but it wont affect much, if those fan and thermal paste applied properly

But it cannot be by air beacuse I have open case it must be something I have GPU latest drivers.
