Hello, I just bought a new pc that will have a 500tb SSD in it, and that is where i will have my windows installed, But I also want to add the HDD I had in my old pc for extra storage, but that hdd also has windows installed on it.

How would installing it in my new pc work, Can i just plug it in, or do i have to delete the files from the hdd first, Is there any way i could keep the files?

Solution
Does the old system still run?
Ideally, you copy all your desired data off that drive first.

Then, put it in the new PC and wipe it clean. Delete ALL existing partitions.
Reformat, and use as desired.
You only have to make sure that the bios is set up to start from the new ssd and not the old drive.
You don't have to delete anything and there will be no problems, other than maybe the hidden partitions of the old drive showing up but you can hide those in disk management.
