Is it possible to change/mod the LED color in the NZXT H440 case? Has anyone?

Hello,

I am looking at either heavily upgrading or building a new pc and was curious about this case. Now my question is really just aesthetic so it's not necessarily a major issue but here it is anyway!

I have several lighted Razer peripherals as well as other led lighted things for my pc but all geared toward a blue lighting setup (though my keyboard and mouse are actually chroma so can be changed). I like the Razer edition H440 case but it is lit up with the newer Razer green where as I said I am partial to the Classic blue.

Can the Led's be changed? Is there anyone that does mods like this around? From what I can tell the other standard color versions use blue led's for the lighting and I saw one on ebay that had been made pink (though I'm not sure by what means).

Just curious, just like the overall look of this version but would really prefer a blue lighting setup.

Thanks!

if it has leds fitted then yes they can be changed

though without seeing how they are fitted cant say how to change them

but plenty people on ebay do custom led strips to the specs you ask for

i had some made up exactly how i wanted them for my enthoo primo

only cost me £7.50 a strip

i wanted much narrower than the ones most places sell and wanted them side facing

took under an hour to find some one on ebay who would do them the way i wanted

Yeah I've been looking around trying to get an idea of how it works, the Razer version also has led strips on the bottom to light the underside so it's slightly different than the standard h440. Did you just contact sellers to find one or are there particular customizes around?

i just had a look at a few

noticed some were selling stuff that wasnt just the bog standard so messaged those ones

i wanted the strips under 6mm total width and side facing leds so the light gets directed upwards or downwards or sidewards depending where i put the strip

rather than the normal over 10mm wide and the light just spreads out in a wide area

Yeah I considered just going with the strips like that and just adding it in but given that it already has the other lights behind panels I didn't know if that would work very well.

Let me ask a question unrelated to this case other then maybe helping decide on going with it. I had intended to keep my current case as it is very large and I can't imagine having any issues space wise but it was suggested that I get a new one that would take advantage of advancements in case design over the years but is there anything that would really benefit me going to a newer case given that I would be upgrading the board and components inside?

The one I have now is the Alienware Area 51 750i, this case/pc.
