Question Is it possible to connect coaxial wire to a double pole ON/OFF switch ?

I use digital cable TV at home.

I want to install a switch so that during a thunderstorm I can disconnect the Cable signal to avoid damage to my LED TV.

Is it possible to connect coaxial wire to a double pole ON/OFF switch ?

One option I recommend is to put a urge suppressor on the line.

You can use this for a switch.
Just switch it to the other input when you want to switch it off.

Yeah, the switch isn't going to offer any real protection from lightning in that a strong strike is just going to jump poles.

There are a variety of line conditioners and surge protectors on the market. Some of the more reputable brands even offer levels of equipment protection by way of cash back if the item fails to protect.
