Is it possible to connect old Panasonic camcorder to Windows 10 via Firewire

Hi all,
I have this old Panasonic PV-DV401D camcorder and I have lost the software that came with it. I don't think it could run on Windows 10 anyway without drivers. When I connect the camcorder I do get an AV/C Subunit pop up under connected devices but the only option is Remove Device.
I know this is way old tech but is there a way to get these off tape and onto digital format? Not even sure I'm in the right area, but figured I'd try to start somewhere.
Thanks!
Matt

Though no longer supported by its author, WinDV works under Windows 10 and will allow Firewire capture from a miniDV camorder:

Your computer will need to be quite fast to capture without dropped frames. Turn off anything you don't need to be running, like antivirus, disconnect from network etc. If possible, capture onto a different physical hard disk than the boot drive.
