i it possible to disable P or E core on intel laptop for different situations? for example i need battery and performance doesn't matter, in such situations, is it possible to disable performance core for better battery? or i have heard in games or intensive task by disabling E core you can get better fps?

By default your laptop likely already does this. There are all kinds of setting related to power/performance usage preset in laptops to save on battery.

Microsoft has made lots of changes in this area lately in both window 10 and window 11 so it is hard to give you details.

You should find a screen that talks about "parking" cores that you can adjust.

What is still very messy is can you actually force a application to use certain cores. Ie how do you prevent a game from running some of it processes on "e" cores. Mostly this depends on the person writing the application to know which internal process needs the fastest cores and which can run on the slower ecores.

You will find massive discussion on this topic if you look at something called process lasso

is this update on 23h2? because my windows is 11-22h2 and I couldn't find anything specific to this matter.

also the reason i asked this is that usually i use my laptop on battery for Microsoft office OR watching movies from local Disk. in this situations , i really like to maximize my battery.

i was hoping by the time i changed my 9300h , ARM cpu are available on laptops but I couldn't find any . so i am going to buy a 13620h

Possible???
I expect so.
But, do you think you are smarter than the thread director?
By default, when on battery, the integrated graphics is used and the max performance is lowered.

You might try simply lowering the max cpu performance in windows settings from 100% to a lower number and do some tests.

I forget what release I was messing around with it in windows. Hard to say what microsoft changes. I know they moved part of this function to the xbox bar stuff. This was discussed a lot when amd 7950x3d came out and had a much larger issue than p/e core.

If you are really interested in it I would go to bitsum site who makes process lasso. It tends to have many more options but I suspect you will find it is pretty much a waste of time. From what I found there is no good way to prevent a program from doing something stupid and disabling cores you now have the background windows garbage tasks competing for the cores you did not disable.

that was what i did earlier . i mean lowering % + disabling Turbo + under volt it in intel XTU... but it doesn't work after 2020 bios update and i doubt it work with 13th gen as well

yes i just came across something in YouTube that people disabling E core for better fps in game, i thought maby its a thing , i mean doing opposite for battery efficiency. nvm , if its not possible
