Amazon shows many many USB - firewire external adapters.

In light of other replies, ignore this.

The short answer is no.

The adapters on Amazon are likely scams, because they appear to be "passive" USB to FireWire adapters, which you can't do. And looking at several products, despite having 3-4 star reviews, are littered with 1 star reviews of people saying they don't work.

There are plenty of FireWire expansion cards out there though, so you just need a computer with a PCIe slot.
