Again, lots of great advice on this NG! I happened to pick up another
copy (legit) while I was out of town this Christmas. Is there any way
to run both at the same time? This would come in real handy for
transfering and setting up mules! Also if it works, could single
player do it as well?

TIA!

As cheap as used computers are now, isn't it easier and perhaps better to
just have a second machine available with the second copy installed?

I have a small lan here at the apt and have 3 copies installed on the 3
fastest comps (though one only manages 2-3 fps and is only good for muling
or rushing chars).

I only spent $20 for one of the comps, the extra copy of D2X was twice that.
Though to be honest the extra switch to extend the lan and cables was an
extra $20 or so.

I prefer having it all on one machine as it is a space issue. 3
computers + 3 monitors + 3 mice + 3 keyboards. Yes, one could buy one
of these little switch thingies to use one monitor etc with all
computers, but it still takes up space. And they eat electricity which
again costs money. I could of course place the secondary PCs in a
different room, but then it gets uncomfortable running back and forth
all the time.

Get a large desk (mine is a door board on two bookshelves) and make one
of the machines a notebook - then you can place three computers on a one
by two meter area.

Ah, Information. A property, too valuable these days, to give it away,
just so, at no cost.

So is an OS that won't Play Nice a controlling issue (Win98SE: got
multiple installations of D2 on one Win98SE box?)

KVM switch, works great here.

.... which would look ugly in the middle of the living room. And Hannes
would probably complain if I ban him from the table, too.

Apparently in that case it is a financial issue too. Anyway, I like it
the way it is, with all three instances on one machine.

Is there a joke hidden in that remark? If yes - I don't get it. If
not - I still don't understand the sentence.

Sorry, I didn't mean to mumble that enthusiastically.

</mumble>
You're running XP, and have multiple installations of D2 on the same
box; is this doable with Win98SE?

(if not, then Win98SE is not a Play Nice OS; and limited house space
drives the use of XP where it *can* be done, in lieu of multiple Win98SE
boxes).

<mumble>

Back to Normal, if ever I could be called that. *sigh*.

I don't run XP but 2K, and afair it works with 98 too.
