Is it possible to have two graphics cards, running one at a time?

Hello. I'm wondering if it's possible to have two graphics installed in a desktop computer, but picking which one to use? I don't think I'd actually try to do this, but it's an interesting question for me and I haven't found the answer in my Googles. Basically, I'd have one high-powered card for gaming, and a really simple one that uses less energy (I think?) and doesn't heat up, used for browsing and everything else. So, could it be done?

kinda.

HybridPower™ from nvidia. uses your main gpu during gaming etc.

then turns the gpu off and uses onboard for browsing etc.

but i dont think thats what you want..

Yeah, it looks cool but not what I'm thinking of. I already have a nice[enough] graphics card.

Well, silly me. My graphics card has HybridPower! Hahaa. Wow. Ok, next time I'm at my computer I'll install that and see how it does. Thank you, krazyk12.

It will only work with certain nvidia chipsets. And the only ones it works with are the motherboards you wouldnt use for a serious gaming machine. Aka MicroATX chipsets like the NForce 7000's.
