Hi I have a LGA1155 socket motherboard from my HP pre built pc. Now I wanna change the cpu heatsink because the stock cooler is not doing well now. The question is, is it possible to use an after market cooler if my backplate bracket is like this? (This is the image of it) https://ibb.co/C64x9Mn

Unless it it riveted, rather than screwed together, you should be able to remove the back plate and replace it with the after market one. Most aftermarket coolers include a backplate.

Ok so this is the bracket that the cpu cooler I am trying to purchase looks like https://ibb.co/ZWkx0yf (I only saw this pic on product reviews). I was just wondering if the white screw-like thing at the bottom would fit on my motherboard because the backplate seems to fit only for my stock cooler. (Image of my MOBO) https://ibb.co/LZXD5y0 . Also, if I remove the backplate, the cpu retention won't have nothing to screw on. (I removed the retention on the second pic, but the backplate is still intact.)

That doesn't look like the backing plate. What cooler are we talking about ?
