Hi. Ive just been aware of this issue for a day. I found out that my x64OS has decided to reserve 8gb of ram, as "hardware reserved", thus leaving me with 16gb of ram. Thing is, it wasn't always like that, I used to be able to use all 24gb. I don't know what could have made Windows decide to reserve 8gb. Im thinking it was probably a windows update that changed some parameters? I know ive had one 2 weeks ago. Anyway, Ive tried unchecking maximum memory on boot via msconfig, editing the registry, to no avail. Im thinking about checking inside the BIOS, but dont know yet if I really have to resort to this. Ill be happy to provide extra information, but does anyone have a quick fix in mind with the current information?

here are some pics that illustrate the issue.

Thanks in advance.
You have two different size ram modules in the machine.
2x8GB.......2x4GB.
Remove the 2X4GB.
Boot the machine and post a screen shot of task manager/performance/memory
