Is it possible to power a GPU that requires 2 PCI-E power cables on just one cable? Radeon HD 4780 - thanks!

Hi, I have got a hold of a Gainward Radeon HD 4780 GS from a freind while I am waiting for my own GPU to arrive, but the PSU that I am using doesnt have enough PCI-E cables to power it.

Do you think that it might be possible to power it on just one cable, even at the risk of a performance hit?

Apologies if this sounds like a dumb question - thanks.

You need to plug in all PCIE power plugs into the GPU else it won't perform well enough or not at all.

No, you need the other power cable connected.
