is it possible to print black only in hp model 3830

i have brand new hp printer bought this blinded not knowing the price of ink desk jet model 3830 i would like to know if theres any possible way to print with black only weather its to leave empty color cartridge in or whatever it takes is it possible to print on this item using black ink only?

Look for "Greyscale" check-box in the printer preferences & settings dialogue.

Be aware that if you use only black ink over long periods, the other colours will dry up in the printhead and cause a stubborn blockage which may be very difficult to clear (fitting new cartridge won't help).
