Is it possible to put the graphics card of an xbox 360 into a laptop

my laptop is a dell inspiron that i bought for school but i recently started getting into pc gaming and dont have money to put into it and my xbox doesnt work. i was wondering if the graphics card of my 360 would work in my laptop? if not, what is a good graphics card for a laptop for around a hundred bucks?

you can't upgrade anything for a laptop whatsoever, it's one of the biggest tradeoff for the mobility of laptops. So you can sell your laptop, throw in some money, a total of $700 (including OS, tax, monitor and mouse, etc) can get you a really capable gaming PC, so dig around!

No, you cannot.

Most laptops cannot have their video cards upgraded. Those few that can usually costs about $1500. Laptop video cards are generally not sold to in the retail market, they are mostly sold to system builders. A video card for laptops follows the MXM format unless of course the video chip is soldered directly on to the motherboard.

you can switch out a graphics card for a laptop, but it is a pain in the ass, and does not work with all laptops or all video cards. having said that, there is no way you can use an xbox`s gpu in anything but an xbox.

average price for a mainstream gaming PC is around $800 I would say. the games you listed are not particularly demanding, so even $500 pc will do.

take that $500 PC, add windows and a monitor/peripherals to it, and you will have yourself one powerful gaming rig.

what all does "including-all" entail exactly? i know absolutely nothing about computers, hence the subject of this discussion. but i'd really like to learn about all the components of building a computer and what all the different terms and things are because i think theyre really interesting but i dont know anybody thats knowledgeable in this department.

anyhow, if you know nothing about computers it may be difficult to put one together even knowing what parts to use. there are some websites that will assemble a customized computer for you and ship it to you, and their prices are not unreasonable. of course it is cheaper to build it yourself if you know how.

but in all seriousness, it is not rocket science and most people can learn how to do it if you are resourceful and motivated enough. Once you know how to do it, you will benefit from it from many years to come in all your future builds, so it certainly is a worthwhile skill and I would encourage you to pursue it. if you are facing certain issues you can always come here and ask us for guidance.

The GPU in the XBOX 360 is soldered into the mainboard PCB. It is utterly impossible to remove it and then use it in a laptop PC. The XBOX 360 uses a watered-down Nvidia GeForce 7950 GPU. A very old and obsolete GPU which is totally blown away in performance even by today's low-end budget cards.
