I kindly ask for an answer. Motherboard seeems to be broken and although I know something about computers, I could not fix it.

Therefore, before throwing it away, I decided to take out some parts that I would probably be able to use in the future:

  • Solid State Drive 128 GB (SSD)
  • 8,192 (4,096 + 4,096) MB, DDR3 RAM (1,333 MHz) -

However, I have a question about the possibility of removing the Intel® Core ™ i7-2640M Processor from the motherboard.

type : Intel® Core™ i7-2640M Processor
clock speed : 2.80 / 3.50 Turbo GHz
Front Side Bus : 1333 MHz
3rd level cache : 4 MB

It still seems to me to be the most valuable component of this rather old laptop (10-year-old design). If not, it is a pity, but it is always worth asking people more familiar with laptops because I could not find one answer to this question. Thank you in advance for your answer, I've been browsing this portal for several years now and it's time to register: D.
