Is this build ready to be bought or could it be a bit better with the same price or build a bit cheaper without losing much?

First, the H77 board limits overclocking, so paying extra for the K CPU isn't worth it. And if you're not overclocking, the stock CPU cooler should be adequate.

You can also to trim the PSU to a 500W range model, provided it has the right PCIe power cables for a 7970 ( one 6 pin, one 6+2 pin in this case. )

Lastly, LED backlit displays are usually a lot more expensive than normal LCD screens, so you might save a little there.

Motherboard: I don't mind paying a bit extra if it means I can keep the main components a bit longer by overclocking them. How much extra are we looking here? Any recommendations on specific model maybe?

About the monitor: This one has been recommended quite a few times even as a budget monitor. I think i'm keeping it

Actually overclocking hurts CPUs in the long run. In the short run the investment pays off with the initial performance gain, but that decreases over time. I think if you want to cut the price go with the i5-3470 and H77, and maybe drop the SSD.

If you want to trim the build I'd suggest something like this:

With that you can still add whatever monitor and anything else you might need, maybe even a better PSU at that.

i'll stick with 7970
