Is it Possible to Upgrade to Windows 10 From Windows 8.0? (Not 8.1)

I have a Toshiba laptop running Windows 8.0. I never updated to 8.1 because I recall there were a series of hoops listed on the Toshiba support site that I would have had to jump through in order to get the laptop able to run 8.1.

Now I would like to run Windows 10, but would like to avoid the 8.1 upgrade process if at all possible.

Can this be done, and if so how? Thanks!

You can in a roundabout way... If you get a Windows 10 1511 install disk, you can actually format and reinstall the OS with your windows 8.0 Key. That way you can "upgrade" directly from windows 8.0 to 10. It will be a fresh install though, so make sure to back up all your data before proceeding.
