Is it possible to use an IDE and SATA?

Hey guys I have an old IDE/ATA drive that is 80GB, I also have a 40GB SATA drive.... So what i am trying to do is use my SATA drive as a boot drive and my IDE/ATA drive as a storage drive. If you need specs please ask me i am not quite sure what other info i should say so please ask.

No reason it won't work if you have both a ide controller and a sata controller. Some motherboards have both, or, you can buy a add in controller card.

That said, IDE droves are obsolete and slow. A 40gb sata drive is probably not much good either.
