Is it possible to use iPod 5 without battery?

Hi! My iPod 5 had a bad accident involving water, and the battery was swollen. Is there any way to see if it was just the battery that died? Meaning that I will temporarily run it from Lightning Cable. Thanks in advance! J4

No, it only gets very hot and dosent power on. Anything else you could think of?

Put it in the sun and wait for it to dry out
