I was wondering if I have both a computer monitor and a HD Tv connected to my PC be possible to have a game show on the tv while the monitor is in desktop mode or simply turned off. Can one either the tv or monitor be turned off ? Is that bad for the GPU if they are both connected and one is off while I play a game or use the desktop on the monitor. Also how would I set that up ? Thank you so much

Depending on your operating system the process to output to different monitors is very easy. In the Windows Control Panel under Display there's some simple settings to control which is your main display and what resolution each display is set to.

Basically, this is very possible and pretty simple to set up. Simply plug both displays in to your GPU and use the Display settings to control them.

The only problem with having multiple displays running with 1 or more of them turned off is that you might lose your mouse cursor. Which is always fun. There is no danger to your GPU using this kind of setup. You might see a drop in your FPS but if necessary you can switch back and forth at will.
