The mobo is an ASUS Prime B550M-K,
The processor is a Ryzen 5 5600G with the stock cooling fan
RAM is DDR4 3200Mhz - 2 x 8Gb
GPU is GTX 750TI-2Gb
HDD is 1Tb Seagate
SSD is 960GB SN350 NVMe SSD
PSU is Corsair VS 550

This is an upgrade to run AutoCAD Mechanical 2020, Solidworks 2020, net browsing, and other MS office applications.

Solution
Will the NVMe drive work at its optimum data transfer rate while using the ryzen 5600G on the said mobo or am I compromising its performance by opting for this combination of processor / mobo ?
That is low performance WD green nvme drive. It will work at full performance (for what it can do).

I would have chosen a better nvme drive instead - like Samsung 970 evo plus.
