Is it Resolution or size ?

Hi, I want t buy a monitor, And make a pixel art on my current laptop, But when I'm choosing a monitor, Or making a pixel art on gimp .
Every monitor says some numbers, Like this : 1920 x 1080p, Is this PPI ( Pixels per inch ), Or is it screen size, and when I try to make a pixel art in gimp ( I didn't make any yet, This is my first one ) It says size by pixels, And down it says resolution, By pixels \ inch, my laptop resolution is 1366 x 768, Should I make it as my screen resolution or what, Help please !

Think of your laptop screen as a grid 1366 dots in width by 768 dots in height.

That is your screen resolution. 1920x1080 just means a monitor has 1920 dots in width and 1080 dots in height on the grid.

I'm not quite sure of the question you're trying to ask, though?

1920 x 1080 = total number of pixels on screen, so if your monitor is 1366 x 768 then you should set screen to that number of pixels (which is 1049088)

Thanks ubercake, I'm sorry that my question is not clear, But what i mean is 1080p Is aztuallt 1080 ppi or 1080 pixels size

Yes, if they same resolution. why having 4k on a mobile phone is a waste of time as the screen so small you can't tell.
